Home County Folk League: Member - Board of Directors
The Home County Folk League has been supporting Canadian folk music since 1974. As the organization behind the Home County Music & Art Festival in London, Ontario, we continue to champion Canadian folk artists through our annual summer Festival and year-round community programming.
Home County is proud to be returning to Victoria Park this July for the 49th edition of our Festival, an important step forward as we continue to rebuild and grow. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our leadership team as we strengthen the organization’s foundation and plan for the future.
We are currently inviting applications for a Director to fill a recent vacancy on our working Board of Directors. This appointment will continue until the Annual General Meeting in November 2026. Our Board is an active, hands-on group that takes on both governance and operational roles to support the League’s mission.
Ideal candidates will bring experience in nonprofit governance, strategic planning, or community engagement, and share a commitment to Canadian folk music, arts, and cultural programming. Directors must be eligible and willing to serve the remainder of the term, with the opportunity to express interest in continuing beyond it.
Board Member Expectations:
Promote, endorse, and work diligently to achieve the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan of the Home County Folk League.
Attend Board meetings, typically held the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7–9 pm.
Review, understand, and comply with governance and operational policies.
Actively participate in at least one Board committee and complete assignments, with an approximate commitment of 10 hours per month.
Engage with the organization’s activities both in-person and through electronic communication.
Attend General Meetings of the membership.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting time for Home County. As we return to Victoria Park and reimagine our programming for the future, Board members will play a vital role in shaping the next chapter of one of London’s most beloved cultural traditions. If you are passionate about community, Canadian folk music, and building a strong foundation for the future, we invite you to get involved.
